THE IDEA BEHIND VIRTA
When we first started VIRTA, me and my business partner Sonja Hannus were just super passionate about yoga and so impressed about all the benefits it had brought to our holistic well-being. So we wanted to bring the practise to the people that would not normally go to a yoga studio, in the most accessible way. So we started to offer our classes to businesses, athletes and kids at schools. And our mission worked! Many people who were completely new to yoga got excited about it. After that we have expanded our services to other practises for the body and mind as well, also online, but still keeping everything as practical as possible.
TYPICAL DAY
I always try to start my day with meditation. It makes such a difference! I have breakfast or just coffee at home or at the office. At work every day is different but consists mostly of the same parts; emails, sales, marketing, teaching yoga or mindfulness, talking to customers, talking to team members, planning, executing, developing. My favourite meal of the day is lunch and I mostly have it at a restaurant near Hietalahdentori at Helsinki center. In the evenings I move my body mostly with yoga, pilates, kick boxing or walking.
A PIECE OF ADVISE
Passion for whatever you want to share is so important. And Intention; why are you doing something and whose life do you want to impact with your services. A lot of the time the medicine that we can share with others comes from our own experiences; first we must embody it before we can share it in a trustworthy and safe way. Also keeping your own cup as full as possible in the process is key.
MOST IMPORTANT LESSON
There are so many! I guess asking for help has been one of the biggest ones. We don't have to be super women all the time.
GO-TO OUTFIT
I like to mix sporty stuff with something a bit more elegant; so maybe like faux leather pants with a hoodie or a big knit with yoga pants
